Couldnt you just connect the ends if the wire together positive to postive negative to negative and put 2 wires in the amp? Tanks man nice instructions. Many makers of tube amps caution against turning on their amps when they’re not connected to speakers. Although Dave Gordon had told me that I could break in the Ms’ tubes without connecting the amps to my speakers, ARC later sent me two huge, heavy brass resistors. I connected these to the Ms’ speaker terminals, to ensure that break-in would occur evenly.
You can hook up 20 subs to a mono amp; BUT you have to co nfigure the speakers by impedance/ohms. if you hook two 2 ohm speakers to a 4 ohm steady amp in parallel you will soon buy a new amp. if you hook 10 speakers in series you will not even get it warm. Each speaker will also divide the available wattage and will not have a lot of power.
Servicing Fender Amplifiers This is my Fender amp servicing guide. I developed this service guide after many years of servicing Fender Vintage amplifiers. Many Fenders used the same circuit inside with just a few different parts in the same spot on the board. You don’t need a special service guide for each amp to be able to service a Deluxe Reverb, Super Reverb, Pro reverb or any of the vintage fender amps.
Before doing any service work on an amplifier, you must make sure the amplifier is unplugged from the wall and the filter caps are drained. Filter caps can hold a charge that can give you a severe shock. The easiest way to drain your filter caps is to warm up the amp and then play the amp. Do not shut the amp off with the power switch or the standby switch. Just unplug the amp from the wall and keep strumming your guitar until the sound dies away.

What size wire for watt amp to 2 watt subs? But if youre onlygoing to run two watt subs and NOTHING else then you can use 16guage You shouldn’t run a higher wattage then what the sub’s are ratedfor You’ll blow the subs. If you have two w sub’s then youeither need at max two w si…ngle channel amps or you can getone 2-channel w and bridge it but idk if they make 2-channel inthat low of an amperage or you can use one w 2-channel amp don’t bridge.
I have two w boss competition sub’sbeing pushed by a w Pyle power amp and they do great. I plan onadding another identical amp one for each sub and a w inverterso it doesn’t kill my battery and alternator. Anyways to answerthis question.. You can never go to big with wire and the cost for wiredoesn’t change much of it even does at at all, only with the changein the size of roll length of wire. The thicker the gauge theeasier it will carry the current and the better your subs willsound.

Even though it is relatively small compared to similar power amplifiers, it still out performs the majority with very clean and loud audio. You should never spend huge amounts on your speakers and subwoofer but buy the cheapest car amplifier. If you do this, what is the point? An amplifier is often forgotten about by many beginner audio installers. You can only take it to the next level by buying a car amplifier and installing it correctly with an amp wiring kit. With an amplifier, you have a clean source of power that can be driven to your speakers without straining any of your equipment.

You would bridge the amps, it will cut into your power, but that’s how you do it. This is not recommended because you take a pretty big risk of blowing both of your amps. MORE How can I hook up an amp and a sub to a stock stereo with no rca jacks without buying a new head unit? Well if you got any old “RCA” cables what i would do is cut the end off of one and wire it to the back speakers and then you plug them in to the amp and then hook up the power supply for your amp and then connect your subs and that should work???
A typical Head Unit will push between 10 and 50 watts to each speaker, while the RCA inputs on your Amplifier will only take about 3. In Stereo World, this is called “Input Voltage. What you are looking for, friend, is commonly called a “Knockdown,” or a “Step-Down-Converter. This unit will be about 3″x3″x6” and will have RCA outputs on the back of it to hook up to your amp.

Amp in Protect Mode – Troubleshooting Foreword: I get so many questions about amplifiers going into protection or blowing fuses after remote turn-on voltage is applied that I’ve decided to provide a page to help determine if the amplifier is faulty or if a fault in the system is causing a problem. Many amplifiers will illuminate their protect LED during the mute delay when you initially power up the amplifier. After a short delay seconds , the protect LED will go off. For those amplifiers this is normal.
If you know how your amplifier behaves when the amp is in good working order, it will make troubleshooting much easier.
Up for sell almost brand new Kicker Monoblock Amplifier. I have been using this amp only for few months. This amp is very powerfull Kicker stated RMS watts at 2 ohm!!!
This is not a liability at all as the B is one of the best sounding tubes ever produced. Even if you have highest efficiency speakers, the golden tone of the B tube and extra headroom it provides, are still the safest bet for DHT amplifier success with the most kinds of speakers, especially if they are not horn types. Push- pull B amplification offers the highest output power level of any of the above configurations up to 40 watts per channel or more in some circuits!
For my initial foray into the world of DIY tube amps, I decided to hedge my bets and go with the B single-ended tube topology for higher power and great fidelity. If so, just skip to the appropriate section that you need. Getting your hands on a good schematic is the probably the second most important step in the amp building process. Unless you are an experienced experimenter and design your own amps, the safest route is to select a proven schematic from many that are offered for free at sites on the Internet.
For instance sites like: A great way to start to learn tube audio is to get hold of as many schematics as you can find and study them closely. If you study them long enough, you will begin to see similarities in circuits and their sections from one schematic to another. Try to view an amp as a combination of different stages driver stage, output stage, power supply, etc.
Try to see the forest as groups of trees… Another good way to learn is to get hold of a vintage tube amp and its schematic and spend some time studying the wiring underneath while trying to visualize the circuit flow from input to output. Usually commercial push pull designs are much more complicated than what we would normally build, so if you can figure one of them out, our typical DIY amps will be a breeze to understand and build by comparison.
One more step
It builds the sepulchres of the fathers. I wonder what he would have made of audiophiles? Here we live in an age when distortion, dynamic range, noise levels, and uninterrupted recording times—to name only four areas indisputably superior to anything 40 years ago—have reached a state-of-the-art that great recording musicians of the past would have killed for, while audiophiles, like so many Miniver Cheevys, sometimes appear to want nothing more than a return to that very past.
These thoughts were prompted by the appearance of two vintage amplifiers from manufacturers that helped make high-end audio a consumer reality:
